About the School

Rooted in the
Old Ways

Elemental Herbalism is a living school of herbal learning, a space where people gather to remember the old ways, listen to the land, and share in the practice of grassroots herbalism.

Founded by Lily of the Herbs, this work weaves together ten years of teaching medicine making, foraging, and plant-based living, now shared by a small collective of facilitators across the country.

We run a seasonal market, one day in-person medicine making workshops, and four day in-person trainings.

Our Mission

"We believe herbalism is not only medicine making, but an act of remembering."

Our work is rooted in an elemental understanding of life: air, fire, water, and earth, through which we explore the relationships between people, plants, and place.

We teach herbalism as a practice of presence and connection: listening closely, forming right relationships, and learning from the living world rather than extracting from it.

Through our teachings, we aim to support a return to embodied knowledge, practical skill, and deep trust in the intelligence of nature.
